A district that had never voted for a Republican since it had been created and an opponent with a background as a business owner with strong ties to the community combined to make this the most competitive election in Texas and one of the most contested races nationwide.
CLF was able to highlight Vallejo's disastrous stances on crime and illegal immigration, in a border region that has long had to pay the consequences for Democratic cocktail party stances on immigration. As a result, Vallejo had trouble getting out of the gate on the right foot and struggled to rise above 45% throughout the race in a D+3 district.
The first Republican and the first woman elected from CD 15 since it's creation in 1903, De La Cruz was able to win comfortably and CLF was able to prioritize nationwide spending accurately.
