Texas House Majority

The Challenge

In 2020 an aggressive and energized Democratic party had the GOP majority in Texas in its sights. Spending $40.9 million, which was $21.8 million more than in 2018, they brought unprecedented resources and commitment to bear. At the same time, questions arose about whether the "traditional" GOP majority in Texas would hold firm, with uncertainty in the national political environment and demographic changes in the state

The Key to Victory

Texas Republicans' robust polling plan, and Ragnar's spot-on accuracy, enabled the GOP to strategically target resources. Even when public polling and other partisan pollsters were coming up empty (or even wrong), Ragnar was able to show exactly who was in danger and where Republicans could go on the offensive.

The Outcome

Texas Republicans maintained 83 seats in a year of unprecedented Democrat enthusiasm. State Republicans outperformed the national average and held on to the reins of government in a crucial redistricting year.
